Chasing Great follows All Black Richie McCaw through his final season of professional rugby as he attempts to captain his team to a first ever back-to-back Rugby World Cup win.
Woven through that final season, the film tells the story of Richie’s life. With unprecedented access to Richie and a remarkable family video archive, Chasing Great is the story of how a shy farm boy went on to be one of the greatest rugby players of all time.
In addition to Augusto’s involvement in the directing, writing, producing and editing of the film, we also designed and built the movie website, and collaborated with a US company to create the Chasing Great official fan poster: an innovative piece of digital technology that allowed fans worldwide to be part of a tribute to the legend, Richie McCaw.
Chasing Great holds the box office record in NZ for a feature documentary and the film opened in Australia at number 3 at the box office.
