As part of its global sustainability program, adidas teamed up with Parley and embarked on an ambitious mission: end plastic waste. Run For The Oceans was created to become a rallying cry which motivated runners from around the world to get moving. And for every one-kilometre participants ran, adidas pledged to pick up the equivalent of 10 plastic bottles. With the help of five high-profile adidas athletes: Dominic Thiem, Ninali Zheng, Shaunae Miller-Uibo, Pedri and Karlie Kloss we created seven separate video and print shoots coordinated across Santiago, Barcelona, Florida, and New Zealand. By the end of the campaign we created over 1,000 pieces of content covering large-screen video, social video, digital, print, outdoor, and POS.
The results blew expectations out of the water (excuse the pun). Our campaign content was viewed over half a billion times. We inspired 7M runners worldwide to take to the streets for the cause. Most importantly, 25 million plastic bottles were cleaned up in response.
